Yorkshire Towns

For those with a keen interest in industrial heritage, Bradford has plenty to offer. The National Museum of Photography, Film and Television, is here and also there is the Industrial Museum based in an old textile mill, which offers a brilliant insight into life during and after the Industrial Revolution. Nearby Saltaire houses a fine collection of David Hockney paintings in the wonderful setting of Salts Mill, built by Sir Titus Salt and part of the “model” village built for his mill workers in the early 19th century.

Nearby are the towns of Leeds, with the Royal Armouries and Thackeray Medical Museum, whilst Halifax has the wonderful Eureka museum, specially designed with children in mind. All towns are surrounded by the wonderful countryside of the Pennine Hills.
