Yorkshire Dales day out from York
From your Hotel in York (or Harrogate) your driver guide will take you North up the longest road in England, The A1, The Great North Road. First stop will be in Richmond, with the largest cobbled market square in the country. The tour will take in the rugged contours of Swaledale, the fastest river in England before heading over Buttertubs pass for some specatacular views over Swaledale and Wensleydale before heading to our next stop, Hawes and its Creamery, for some cheese tasting! Wensleydale is James Herriot country, as we look at the locations for the TV series “All Creatures Great and Small” The scenery changes from drystone walls to hedges now as we head in to the ancient city of Ripon, home of the oldest ceremony in the world. Short journey from there back into York to clients hotel.
