In Near Sawrey is Hill Top where she wrote many of her books. Return via Coniston, John Ruskin’s house at Brantwood, cross the lake on the Victorian steam yacht ‘Gondola’, and see the locations of Arthur Ransome’s “Swallows and Amazons”.
