Hever Castle and Chartwell

This day is a chance to see two very different types of home, both used by important statesmen. Hever Castle dates back to 1270 and was the Boleyn family home, visited by King Henry VIII. There are wonderful gardens, including a maze.

Chartwell was the family home of Sir Winston Churchill from 1924 until his death. It gives a good idea of Churchill’s life and the studio is full of his paintings.
